History
We use to be called The Whistling Farmer Pub in memory of Freeman Barber, “the whistling farmer”. Freeman operated a dairy farm in our location until the early 1970s at which time he built Barberlea Golf Course. We’ve come a long way from pitching hay and milking cows in our dining room! Later Freeman worked alongside his son Russell Barber to build Woodlynn Hills Golf Course. He’d regularly be seen on his red Farmall tractor or around the clubhouse whistling a happy tune. Now that we have switched to Woodlynn Hills Pub we are looking to continue displaying his legacy in as many ways as we can!
